Long time away

It has been a long time since I have posted on here. Mainly due to a lot of things going on and all of them happening at once, I kind of lost sight of what I was doing here and how I was trying to reach the world and talk to people. I am sorry for that. It is crazy to sit back and think that if for one day you didn't call the same person you called everyday( you all know there is that one person) Or if you didn't text anyone or answer the phone when anyone called. How soon do you think it would be before the police were knocking on your door doing a welfare check and just making sure you were still alive? How come no one called the cops for me? Just kidding. But back to the serious subject. What if you dropped off of the face of the world for a day? Who would you talk to? If I ever did that there is only one person I would still talk to and that is God. I would still get on my knees and talk and converse with him and then everything I did that day would still make me think of him. I am sure that I actually would have a lot more conversations with him if I did this with having all of the other people and everything cut off for a day. Who would you miss talking to the most? Hopefully your answer to that question is not God because hopefully you would still keep in contact with him... Just thinking.....

Kinda funny

Give up?

Have you ever wanted to just give up on everything? Does it feel like no matter what you do all that happens is you get worse off than you were the day before? I seem to have this feeling a lot lately. Sometimes I want to just run away from all of my problems and responsibilities in this world and never look back. I want to just hide from everyone and everything. It seems like sometimes it would be much easier to do that than to try and deal with and fix all of the problmes we face each day. Now I know that that is not the right thing to do and that is why I have never done that. I stand as strong as I can and try to do what I need to do to get things done the right way. The only reason I stand is because of Christ. If he were not holding me up and pushing me forward I would fall flat on my face and I would be a pathetic waste of existance. Luckily I have been blessed with the gift of knowing and growing close to my creator. This alone is the reason I breathe. Nothing in this world and I mean absolutely nothing is nearly as important as him. I could care less about making money, or having a sweet car, I just want to do my best while im on this planet to love God with my whole heart and soul and nothing else. But still for some reason the desire to get away from it all is still here. Why is that? Does anyone know?

Come Holy Spirit

Tonight I was blessed with spending good quality time with one of my very very good friends from high school. I say blessed because the beauty of a good friendship is one that is awe inspiring. While we were hanging out we got into a discussion of faith. I know this friend is a Catholic but has not been involved in the faith in quite some time. His life and certain things that have been happening in it are calling him to a deeper conversion into the faith. I was sitting here listening to him speak about the many ways God is working in his life, which by itself is incredible because it is very hard to actually see God's work in your life if you have been away for a while. We were talking about his desire to come back to the Church and it brought me to tears listening to him talk about what he wants. He has a desire that I honestly see as amazing. The reasons he wants to come back will remain between me and him but to realize what the most important thing in life is and actually go for it is so beautiful. In this friend I not only share the same common interest's but also Christ! That alone is grounds for taking the time and care that is required to develop and nurture this friendship to a much deeper level. I hope that Christ continues to work in his life and show himself to my friend and I pray that he continues to see this happening. I also want to thank him. For being my friend. Not only that, but for being a Great friend. I ask and beg all of you to pray for him and his conversion into the faith and that his desire continues to grow with his faith. I titled this post "Come Holy Spirit" because I know that the Holy Spirit is working in his life so strong right now and gently leading him by the hand to the church that praying directly to the Holy Spirit will give him much more encouragement and much more enthusiasm to continue this journey.

He said he wanted to do "Hoodrat" things with his friends...

Standing up for God

I got this email from one of my really good friends, it is funny, but it also makes me think of standing up for God and if I do it enough.

Here is the email:

A United States Marine was attending some college courses between assignments. He had completed missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. One of the courses had a professor who was an avowed atheist. One day, the professor shocked the class when he came in, looked to the ceiling and flatly stated, 'God, if you are real, then I want you to knock me off this platform, I'll give you exactly 15 minutes.' The lecture room fell silent. You could hear a pin drop.
Ten minutes went by and the professor proclaimed, 'Here I am God, I'm still waiting.' It got down to the last couple of minutes when the Marine got out of his chair, went up to the professor, and cold-cocked him; knocking him off the platform. The professor was out cold. The Marine went back to his seat and sat there, silently. The other students were shocked and stunned and sat there looking on in silence.
The professor eventually came to, noticeably shaken, looked at the Marine and asked, 'What the heck is the matter with you?' 'Why did you do that?' The Marine calmly replied, 'God was too busy today protecting America 's soldiers who are protecting your right to say stupid stuff and act like an idiot, so, He sent me.'

While getting up and cold-cocking someone is a very extreme way of standing up for God, It makes one think of what they would do when it came down to defending their creator. We don't have to go around knocking people out, or going around hurting people, but lets think of leading by example. When we do things that go against the norm of society we are giving an example. When we don't look at a girl as a piece of meat and say things about her to our friends we are making an example. When we cross ourselves while sitting alone in the food court at the mall and people stare at you we are making an example. When we kneel down to pray when no one is around we are making an example. We don't need to be standing on soap boxes and shouting about fire and brimstone on the street corner to convert people. I fell that all we need to do is live out our faith at every moment and in every situation we come across in our days. I think this will honestly bring the light of Christ to more people.

"For the Catholic there is no room for cowardice"

I saw this quote a while ago and it has had me thinking about it ever since I read it. What does it mean? How does it apply to the lives of Catholics? Well I think there is a lot of ways that it can work in our lives. Our beliefs as Catholics are ones that are under constant criticism and ridicule. I mean seriously, I don't know how many times I have gotten a weird look from people when I talk about being pro-life, or why I go to Mass every Sunday no matter what. I think the biggest one that twists peoples faces is the Eucharist. "Wait, your telling me that you believe your eating his actual Body and drinking his actual Blood? That means your cannibal right?" Or something of that nature. It is hard to understand but right now I don't want to go into the Eucharist I want to talk about what I have started. As Catholics we need to be firm and un-wavering in our beliefs. We believe what we believe because we know its true. For the most part people who do not agree with our beliefs do so because they do not think they are true. Why would you believe in something that you don't think is true? I know the sky is not neon pink, so I don't believe that when I get up tomorrow and look out of my window that I will see a neon pink sky. If someone does not believe that when the Bread and Wine are prayed over in the prayer of Consecration that it actually turns into the body, blood, soul and divinity of Christ, then they probably don't "believe" in the Eucharist. As catholics we need to do everything with our whole heart and not back down from anything. If we are confronted about life issues, we need to stand by the church and her teachings and beliefs on that matter. We cannot back down or give half truths about things as important as abortion. We also need to stand firmly for our beliefs on things such as the Eucharist, or the the importance of Mass. But most importantly we need to be strong Christians. We need to let people know without a doubt no matter what the consequences are that we are in fact Catholic. We need to stand up for the most important thing in this world. Christ. He needs to be our main objective, and I do not really see a way that we can make him that if we are weak and unsure of our faith. The quote is sweet and simple. But the meditations on it are amazing. Take that thought with you through the day and see if you are strong in your faith, or if you are kind of weak. It will amaze you and open up awesome doors to perfect your relationship with Christ.
